When Andrea Kamens tells a story, you tell with her. She creates original programs custom designed to meet the needs of the organization and open the hearts of listeners and of the story itself.
Partial to traditional folk, fairy, and Jewish tales that tremble with truth, she animates adults and children authentically and delightfully. She tells for children including toddlers, preschoolers and teens, and for adults, and people with special needs. She a playgroup leader and arts specialist, currently running a storytelling troupe for grades 1-4 in an after-school program. She enjoys multiage and family groups, and performs in small and large settings.
Her deep Jewish knowledge and experience shines through her storytelling. No matter what your knowledge, faith community or background, Andrea brings you into the rich world of classical and modern Jewish storytelling and can work with educators, clergy and lay people to connect Jewish storytelling to programmatic goals or organizational values.
Through wordplay, drama, and movement games, Andrea teaches the art of storytelling to children of all ages. She is a repeat performer at First Night Boston, a massmouth slam semi-finalist and host, and the newest member of the board of The Story Space in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
